AptaHotTaq

AptaHotTaq is an optimized mixture of thermostable Taq DNA polymerase and DNA-aptamers. The enzyme activity is blocked by aptamers at room temperature. The aptamers dissociate reversible from the polymerase, when temperature is above 50 °C.
AptaHotTaq possesses a 5’ – 3’ polymerase activity and a 5’ – endonuclease activity. It is suitable for qPCR applications, because it minimizes formation of primerdimers and reduces unspecific oligonukleotide priming. Therefore amplification of the DNA-target is increased.
AptaHotTaq can be used in usual PCR protocols. So a separate incubation step is not necessary, but it can be helpful to dissolve the secondary structure of the template DNA so amplification is not hindered.
